In the zeitgeist

The start of Il Palio di Siena, or Il Palio, on Aug. 16, 2006

Here’s a little three degrees of separation for you: Real estate mogul Bob Scinto – whom Mary Shustack wrote about for April WAG’s “Animal Magnetism” issue – named and decorated his Shelton restaurant, Il Palio for the medieval race that still takes place at least twice a year in Siena. Cesare Borgia, scion of the notorious Borgia family, was known to enter his horses in the race. And “The Borgias” returns to Showtime for its third season 10 p.m. April 14. So you can dine at Il Palio, watch “The Borgias” and have two very different tastes of Italy. – Georgette Gouveia
