WAG’s April issue is devoted to all things animal.
And the opening essay by Georgette Gouveia, editor-in-chief, offers a look at those beloved felines.
So it was a case of “purr”fect timing when our friends at Thames & Hudson recently offered up a cat-themed publication – and a couple of gift ideas – to coincide with our theme.
First up is the 2015 title “Cats Galore: A Compendium of Cultured Cats” by Susan Herbert.
Press materials for the hardcover, 320-page volume note the book features work by an artist whose “feline reimaginings of famous moments in Western art, theater, opera and film have won her a devoted following.” We can see why, as these delightfully playful paintings walk us through history in a most fanciful manner.
Rounding out the picture from the publisher are “Cats in Art” notecards, a boxed set of 20, and “Cats in Art” notebooks, which come in a set of three.
If there’s a cat lover in your life, your gift-giving needs have been met.
