Makeup removal that’s twice as nice

In a winter day that has featured brilliant sunshine and a powdered sugar landscape, we ventured one recent day to Aire Ancient Baths in Manhattan – think ancient Rome meets SoHo – to experience Purity, Valmont’s new collection of nine cleansing treatments.

In a winter that has featured brilliant sunshine and a powdered sugar landscape, we ventured to one recent day to Aire Ancient Baths in Manhattan – think ancient Rome meets SoHo – to experience Purity, Valmont’s new collection of nine cleansing treatments. If you’re a reader of this magazine, then you know that we are big fans of this luxurious Swiss skincare line that leaves your dermis radiant.

After a light breakfast, we took part in a demonstration of the products – which use glacial water and probiotics to balance the skin’s microbiota. Icy Falls is a cleansing face jelly for light to moderate makeup. It’s particularly good for dehydrated skin. Wonder Falls, a nourishing cleansing cream, is for moderate to heavy makeup and particularly suited to dry skin.

Bubble Falls is a cleansing and balancing face foam that’s especially good for combination skin, while Bi-Falls is a dual-phase makeup remover for the eyes. Aqua Falls is for the removal of light makeup and, in particular, sensitive skin. Fluid Falls is a removal cream for moderate to heavy makeup and, especially, dry skin.

Vital Falls is a face tonic to perfect makeup removal. Face Exfoliant is designed to be used one to three times a week, while Purifying Pack is a face mask ideally suited to oily or combination skin.

Why so many products? Because the biggest trend in cleansing, we heard, is double cleansing. So you might want to consider layering several products, depending on your skin type and lifestyle.

After cleansing our makeup-free skin with frothy Bubble Falls and applying a Valmont moisturizer, we were treated to a makeover that had us ready for spring.

The Purity collection is available at  saksfifthavenue.comvalmontcosmetics.com, Spa Valmont at Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Manhattan and the Hotel Bel-Air Spa in Los Angeles.
