New Castle Historical Society’s busy calendar

We’ve heard of two interesting events, both sponsored by the New Castle Historical Society – and both ones you’ll want to add to your calendar:

  • The 46th Chappaqua Antiques Show, which will feature some 50 dealers, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 and 2 at Westorchard School, 25 Granite Road (off Route 133) in Chappaqua. Expect silver, fine jewelry, decorative posters, quilts, mid-century furnishings, rare maps and books, folk art and plenty of collectibles. The event will also feature the always-popular, society-sponsored Gold in Your Attic booth of treasures. In addition, there will be appraisers on hand, as well as an interior design consultant, Cami Weinstein (profiled in WAG, August 2013), and a gourmet café. Admission is $8.

Proceeds benefit the historical society, its Horace Greeley House Museum and its programs.

  • “Coco Chanel- Fashion Revolutionary” will be presented at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Horace Greeley House, 100 King St., Chappaqua. Yulia Omelich, owner of COUTUREDossier in town, will lead the program on Chanel and her fashion legacy. The program is free but as seating is limited, so early reservations are suggested.
