Of bronze and blooms

Westchester County’s veterans will be honored for their service during Armed Forces Day events in Somers May 18.

At 3 p.m. a bronze sculpture of an American bald eagle created by Mike Curtis, an Idaho-based wildlife artist, will be dedicated in the courtyard of the newly renovated Westchester County Veterans Museum at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial.

Live entertainment, demonstrations and refreshments will be part of the day’s festivities, which also include the 22nd annual Friends of Lasdon Plant Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Admission is free. Lasdon is on Route 35. For more details, visit lasdonpark.org.
