Oh so handsome…

The Greenwich Decorative Arts Society has shared news of its next event, set for May 1 at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich.

“Very Rich and Handsome: American Neoclassical Decorative Arts” will be the subject of a lecture given by Elizabeth Feld, director of American Furniture and Decorative Arts and managing director, Hirschl & Adler Galleries and Hirschl & Adler Modern in New York.

Here’s how advance materials describe the event:

“Ms. Feld’s lecture will examine the aesthetics associated with the finest American furniture made in the various cabinetmaking centers of the United States, Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore, during the period 1810–1840, and the rich and handsome contributions that they made to the canon of Neoclassicism in America.”

The event will begin at 1:15 p.m. and be followed by refreshments. Admission is $25, free for Society members. Space is limited, with reservations for all required by April 24.
