Praise for the Mediterranean Diet

WAG’s on point with its heart healthy approach in the August “Sporting Inspirations” issue.

Well, not exactly. But in today’s Times, she considers the Paleo Diet, with its emphasis on organic meats, fish and vegetables. While praising its commitment to food that is not processed or packaged, she offers an alternative – the Mediterranean Diet, which she says is more complete nutritionally, environmentally friendly and more realistic from a financial and lifestyle viewpoint.

We at WAG are all about the Mediterranean Diet – with its emphasis on fresh fish, eggs, vegetables, including legumes and beans, and olive oil – as well as other heart healthy choices. Check out our articles related to the recent Heart Health Weekend at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in our August “Sporting Inspirations” issue.
