Seasonal splendor in Norwalk

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk officially kicks off its holiday season Nov. 25, unveiling its traditional display of trees and decorations and this year, a new exhibition.

“Holiday Splendor at the Mansion: Christmas and New Year’s Celebrations,” curated by Kathleen Motes Bennewitz, will open at noon the day after Thanksgiving and signal the festive season returning to the Gilded Age mansion museum.

The exhibition will explore the history of the season as celebrated by the Lockwood and Mathews families in Connecticut and New York City, where they once lived. The mansion will also feature a Designer Show House of Holiday Trees and Decorations.
