Our two favorite words – wine and food. Put them together and what do we have? The Putnam County Wine and Food Fest. The festival returns to Mayor’s Park in Cold Spring this weekend with choice New York wines, chef demonstrations and, of course, great food. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs to relax and enjoy a fine repast while rocking to the sounds of live music. The entertainment includes plenty of activities for the kids, so bring the whole family and don’t forget your wallet – to purchase a bottle or two.
The fun takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. For more, visit putnamcountywinefest.com. And check out the latest adventures of our resident Bacchus, Doug Paulding, every month in WAG’s Wine & Dine column. This month, Doug talks with Emilien Boutillat, newly installed chef de caves for Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.
