The Loft Salon and Spa empowers local women

The Loft Salon and Spa in Stamford collaborated with several local businesses to mark International Women’s Day, March 8. Participating businesses – which included Lord & Taylor, Festivities, Lorca, Judy’s Bar and Kitchen, Pinot’s Palette, Creative Souls, Pacific Swim Bike Run, Wagon Wheel, The J House and Fabricare – supported the #BeBoldForChange campaign to help women transform their lives.

The featured speakers included Christa Forrest of Creative Souls, who spoke about her personal and professional metamorphosis; Kendra Porter, a private shopper for Lord & Taylor, who spoke about ways to create change in yourself; and Sarah Lewis of Dress for Success, who spoke about how to affect change in others.

The businesses donated items to help raise money for Dress for Success Mid-Fairfield County, a Bridgeport-based organization that strives to help women to achieve independence by providing them with a network of support as well as professional attire. In 2016, Dress for Success outfitted 700 disadvantaged women, from millennials to baby boomers, all along the educational spectrum.

The Loft Salon also ran an “Accessories Drive” to help fulfill one of the organization’s needs. Another is business attire for plus-size women.
