The winning Elton John-Lalique collaboration

We featured the Elton John Music Is Love For Lalique collection in our Chic Choices column back in November.

If you recall, we mentioned that four one-of-a-kind crystal art pieces from the collaboration would be auctioned off during the musician’s Academy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF).

Well, we can now report that not only did the auction, conducted by Paddle8, go off in style — but it raised $410,000 for EJAF.

Sold were the Heart in Platinum enameled red crystal, the Heart in gold enameled clear crystal and the Angel in gold-stamped clear crystal plus the showstopper Angel Cire Perdue, which alone garnered a winning bid of $290,000.

If you still want to join the effort, three limited-edition pieces from the collection remain available for purchase ($1,200 to $1,800) at Lalique boutiques nationwide and select retailers. Ten percent of the proceeds from this limited-edition sale benefit EJAF.
