WAG on the town

This coming week WAG is out and about – big time.

Join Wagger Dr. Erika Schwartz Monday, April 7 at Neiman Marcus, The Westchester in White Plains as she presents a program on wellness. Dr. Erika, author of numerous books and a frequent TV commentator on health issues, will talk about the role that bioidentical hormones, made from plant extracts, play in anti-aging, menopause and preventive medicine. Equinox, which has a number of fitness centers in Westchester and Fairfield counties, will also be participating in the event, which takes place at 6 p.m.  in Designer Handbags, Level One. There is a $20 suggested donation, with proceeds going to the Food Bank for Westchester.

RSVP today, April 3, by calling (914) 428-2000, ext. 4904 or emailing RSVPWestchester@neimanmarcus.com.

Then join me back at Neiman Marcus, 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 for a book-signing for my new novel, “Water Music” (Greenleaf Book Group), about four gay athletes whose personal relationships are colored by their professional rivalries with one another. The first novel in my series “The Games Men Play” is a timely, unusual work, I think, about how sports mirror politics, how the past bleeds into the present and how we learn to live with loss through love. For more, email me at info@thegamesmenplay.com.

I’ll also be appearing with my book and WAG magazine at “Sassy Ladies Shopping Night Out” (5:30-10 p.m. Friday, April 11 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Tarrytown). There will be food and wine tastings, a DJ, a raffle, hourly giveaways, swag bags, a pink carpet fashion show and plenty of opportunity to shop till you drop.

Tickets are $20 at the door, $15 in advance at http://sassyladiestarrytown-2014.eventbrite.com. For more information, call (914) 396-7664. – Georgette Gouveia
