It’s about time, at The Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has released details of the spring 2020 exhibition of its Costume Institute – “About Time: Fashion and Duration.”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that The Costume Institute’s spring 2020 exhibition will offer up a “disruptive timeline of fashion history.”

“About Time: Fashion and Duration” will run May 7 through Sept. 7, preceded – in classic fashion – by The Costume Institute Benefit. That famed mega-event will be held May 4.

The exhibition will trace more than a century and a half of fashion, from 1870 to the present, exploring “how clothes generate temporal associations that conflate the past, present and future.”

Intrigued? So are we – and we’ll continue to explore the exhibition with an advance story in our January issue.
