SPICING UP YOUR WORKOUTS

Enjoyment is a huge part of exercise, but sometimes we find an activity that we like to do so much that it turns into the only thing that we do.  Your body is smart and is adept at adapting to imposed demands.  If the only demand that you are imposing on your body is running or resistance training or spinning or any other single activity, then your body will quickly smarten up and stop responding. Variety is the spice of life, and it’s also the spice of working out.   So even if you love your core strengthening class, fire your week up with a fun kickboxing session or some time in the pool.  To keep seeing results and avoid the dreaded plateau, be adventurous, experimental and open.
