The last straw

Viski, maker of all things related to bevies, has come up with copper-plated stainless straws – in straight and “bendy” as an answer to out-of-fashion plastic.

Whither the plastic straw? Once indispensible, now unloved, because, you know, not biodegradable. What to do? Paper is sustainable but melts in your mouth. Not an option. So Viski, maker of all things related to bevies, has come up with copper-plated stainless straws – in straight and “bendy.”

We tried both and found them an acquired taste as the metal hurt our teeth. Our advice for those with sensitive teeth is to put your lips around the metal straw, thus shielding the teeth.

We’re going to give it another go and think it’s worth the environmental effort.
