Walking to end breast cancer

Thousands of local breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers and corporate and community members are uniting Sunday, Oct. 20 to help save lives and ensure no one faces breast cancer alone at the “American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k Walk.”

Thousands of local breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers and corporate and community members are uniting Sunday, Oct. 20 to help save lives and ensure no one faces breast cancer alone at the “American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k Walk.” This noncompetitive, inspirational event raises awareness and funds for a world without breast cancer. In Westchester County, where the walk is in its 26thyear with more than 21,000 participants expected, registration is 8 a.m. at Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase, with the start time at 9:30 a.m.

Registration and start time are 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. respectively for “Making Strides in the Hudson Valley” now in its 24thyear, with 10,000 participants expected at Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets, 498 Red Apple Court in Central Valley.
