If you’re a regular reader of WAG, then you know that we’re fans of Valmont, the luxe Swiss skincare and fragrance line. So, when Valmont invited us to tour the new Valmont Spa at The Carlyle in Manhattan, which is accompanied by La Maison Valmont, the company’s first boutique in the United States, how could we say no?
The new spa includes four rooms for facials, facial and body treatments and massages named for the locations of Les Résidences Valmont properties – Barcelona, Spain; Hydra, Greece; Venice, Italy; and Verbier, Switzerland. The spa is designed in the Valmont Group’s signature white and gold palette, as is the 800-square-foot boutique, which includes dedicated sections for products from l’Elixir des Glaciers skincare, Valmont skincare and the Storie Veneziane fragrance collections. The boutique, which features a dining room-size table for workshops and a lounge area, is also graced with artwork by Sol Lewitt, Mark Tobey, Woodrow Nash, Aristide Najean, Luzia Simons and Didier Guillon, Valmont’s president and artistic director. Sophie Vann Guillon, the company’s CEO and Didier’s wife, spearheads the product lines, mentioning a new fragrance that will be coming out next year. Didier showed us the new, limited edition Scarface fragrance in yet another masklike, Murano glass bottle he designed, along with a companion painting ($1,000).
It was a pleasure to meet them in person at last and to observe the complementary synergy of these creative forces.
We can’t wait to see what Valmont has in store in the new year.
