WAG-worthy tomes

We at WAG are fortunate to count among our contributors, friends and alumni a number of authors releasing new works.

Just in time for beach season and anticipating the fall fashion shows, WAG pal – and longtime fashion writer and novelist – Barbara Nachman has published “Catwalk Killer,” a Who-Done-It?, Who-Wore It? mystery that’s the first in her “sleuthinista” series.

Follow fashion editor Bonnie Nash as she trails the titular murderer from New York to London to Paris to Milan – in stilettos no less – with buddies Ravishing Rita and Johnny. Could international man of intrigue Lorenzo be a suspect – or has he just slain Bonnie’s heart? Fortunately for us readers, there’s plenty of time for romance – and shopping, of course – along with deductive reasoning. Check out the glam action at amazon.com.

We’re also hearing great things about longtime author John P. Coyne’s new novel, “Long Ago and Far Away” (Peace Corps Writers Books).

Set partly in Westchester County – as well as in Ethiopia, Spain, New York City and Washington, D.C., “Long Ago” tells the story of Parker Bishop and Irish McCann, lovers driven apart by the death of their friend and the blame they cast on each other and themselves. Their careers, marriages, families, divorces and changes in fortune are dramatized in the novel. But the main plot focuses on the present day, when the lovers circle back to find each other, and then set out to confront the man who knows the truth about what happened to their friend.

Accident or murder? Even four decades later, the answer matters. For more, visit johncoynebooks.com.

Former WAG editor Emily Liebert was the subject of a WAG profile in September 2013 when her relationship novel “You Knew Me When” hit bookstores and Kindles.

Now she’s back with “When We Fall” (Penguin Random House, Sept. 2), whichfollows Allison Parker’s quest for a fresh start after losing her husband in a horrific accident. Allison decides that moving back to her hometown in the suburbs of New York with her 10-year-old son is the best way to start over. What she doesn’t anticipate, though, is that her past will resurface. When Charlotte Crane, the wife of her husband’s best friend from summer camp, takes her under her wing, things begin to spin out of control.

If you read our profile of Emily http://www.wagmag.com/we-knew-her-when/, then you know she’s great at literary tie-ins. For “You Knew Me When,” they included clothes, jewelry and Zoya nail polishes. Now she’s partnering with Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Mass. for a very special “When We Fall” Weekend Oct. 17-19, focused on relationship-building. Guests will also be able to attend an exclusive discussion with Emily about the book. For more, visit emilyliebert.com.

Before you head off to Canyon Ranch, however, save Oct. 1 for our own Dr. Erika Schwartz. She’ll be at Neiman Marcus Westchester in White Plains to discuss and sign copies of her new book, “The Intimacy Solution” (Humanix-Anthony Ziccardi), all about sex, hormones and what they mean for our relationships. There will be sparkling bevies and nibbles from NM’s new Mariposa along with WAG Swag Bags.

The fun takes place 6-8 p.m. Email
rsvpwestchester@neimanmarcus.com or call 914-989-4908.

And look for an excerpt of “The Intimacy Solution” in WAG’s September “Power Suits” issue.
