As part of its “Icons and Idols: Sports” memorabilia auction on Dec. 4, Julien’s Auctions is featuring Colin Kaepernick’s 2011 debut San Francisco 49ers jersey.

The jersey is signed by the former NFL quarterback, who has become a face of this generation’s civil rights movement and an American cultural figure.

Kaepernick wore the jersey in his debut as a Niner on Oct. 2, 2011, when he entered the game in the first quarter for a handoff to Frank Gore for a five-yard run against the Philadelphia Eagles. This Reebok-brand white jersey with red lettering and detailing features “7” on the front, back and shoulders in red tackle twill with “Kaepernick” across the back shoulders above the centered “7.” Kaepernick signed his name on the red “7” on the back in silver Sharpie as well as “2011 Game Worn Rookie Jersey.” Get ready to open your wallets big time for this one:  The estimate is set between $80,000 and $100,000.

Oh and there’s also some stuff from a couple of basketball guys we think you’ve heard of – Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
