Saluting the sapphire

September is the month for…sapphires

If you were born in the month of September – lucky you – then you know that you have one of the loveliest and most versatile of birthstones. We’re talking about you, sapphire. Take a bow.

Sapphires are varieties of the mineral corundum. While typically an irresistible deep blue, they can be green, orange, purple or yellow. Red sapphires are rubies. Pink ones can be rubies or sapphires.

This month, Brooklyn-based Mociun has 10 new Autumn Sapphire rings, each named for an archaeological hoard. Which to choose? Why not more than one?
