Who doesn’t love an Advent calendar that’s filed with fabulous cosmetics?
I sure do. That’s why I’m ooh-ing and aah-ing over Benefit Cosmetics’ adorable 12-day Advent Calendar that’s filled with get-you-gorgeous goodies in 12 numbered little boxes. It’s a treat to open every day.
You’ll find, for example, Benefit’s miracle magnet mascara – which Allure magazine named as a beauty breakthrough. I have to say, it’s probably the best mascara I’ve ever used in my lifetime. It goes on like a dream and gives your lashes va-va-va-voom volume.

Then from Tiffany & Co. comes an Advent calendar that pays homage to what the company calls “the rebellious creativity and spirit of its founding city, New York.” It’s actually a contemporary oak cabinet of curiosities whose doors are a reproduction of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s 1982 canvas “Equals Pi*,” which featured in the 184-year-old jewelry and silver emporium’s “About Love” campaign. Those doors open to reveal 24 signature robin’s-egg blue boxes filled with Tiffany jewelry and other objects.
We were guessing this cost more than two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree. And we’re right: The starting price is $150,000.
