A masked call to service

When Mark DiMassimo, executive creative director of DiMassimo Goldstein (DiGo) marketing agency, attended a Veteran’s Day speech about sacrifice with his Cub Scout son, he was inspired to create a two-minute PSA film, “Daniel.”

As we commemorate the one-year anniversary of the pandemic’s onset in the United States, people are suffering from quarantine fatigue and vaccine roll-out frustrations. Even after people manage to get vaccinated, some still wonder: What’s the point? Why do we continue to make the sacrifice?

Who better to answer that question than a Korean War veteran? When Paul Fix, executive creative director of DiMassimo Goldstein (DiGo) marketing agency, attended a Veteran’s Day speech about sacrifice with his Cub Scout son, he was inspired to create a two-minute PSA film, “Daniel,” which you can view here.

Shot at The Douglas House in Orangeburg by Corra Films, with funding from the Dick Clark III Trust and Film Form, the spot shows that when you wear a mask, maintain social distance and get vaccinated, you’re making a small sacrifice for your family, your community, your country and, let’s not forget, yourself.
