A (really big) group show

A new group show opens July 14 at Hudson Beach Gallery in Beacon, curated by Barbara Galazzo.

We’ve heard from Barbara Galazzo – the glass artist and founder of Gallery 66 NY – about her latest venture.
Though her brick-and-mortar gallery space in Cold Spring has closed, Galazzo continues to curate shows in the region.

And her next show is “Collaborative Concepts 2D,” presented by Hudson Beach Gallery in Beacon.

Here’s how Galazzo advances the large group show:

“Collaborative Concepts was the first gallery in Beacon, in 2001. It presented more than 30 exhibitions over (its) five years, with artists’ residencies and a small outdoor sculpture space. The gallery received numerous write-ups from The New York Times on the quality of its artists and exhibitions. Since 2006, Collaborative has presented an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition at Saunders Farm in Garrison each fall.”

The participating artists in the Beacon show include Inez Andrucyk, Richard Brachman, Jean Brennan, Phil Cianci, Rebecca Darlington, Marcy B. Freedman, Janet Goldner, Anne Johann, Louise Kerr, Simone Kestelman, Karen Madden, Alison McNulty, Sharon Nakazato, Francine Perlman, Sheilah Rechtshaffer, Stephen Rose, Cassandra Saulter, Chuck von Schmidt, Jill Shoffiett, Jon BonSignore, Jim Thompson, Elizabeth White, Eva Whorley, Max Yawney and Joann Zwolski.

The exhibition opens July 14, with a 6 to 9 p.m. reception, and will continue through Aug. 5.

Hudson Beach Gallery is at Hudson Beach Glass, 162 Main St.
