All things merry and bright

We’re in full holiday mode at The Westchester, Bloomingdale’s and Philipse Manor Hall.

The holiday season really snuck up on us this year, what with Thanksgiving being the latest it can be. And now with just 10 days until Hanukkah and 13 till Christmas and 14 till Kwanzaa, we are in full festive mode. Get your merry on with these activities:

The Westchester in White Plains will host a variety of Holiday activities for families throughout the month of December. Shoppers can enjoy “Holiday Movie Nights,” holiday entertainment and performances and Budding Buddha’s “Yoga for Tots.”

“We encourage everyone from the community to come experience the holiday season at The Westchester,” said Paula Kelliher, director of marketing at The Westchester. “There is a holiday experience designed for everyone.”

Holiday Movie Nights: Families can once again enjoy holiday movies every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Located in The CONNECT Lounge, Level 4, families are invited to wear their favorite PJs and enjoy an evening of flicks, hot chocolate, treats and more:

Also in White Plains, Bloomingdale’s is hosting a “Breakfast With Santa” at its La Provence restaurant, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. And don’t forget the store’s Fragrance Fair going on Dec. 13 and 14.

Meanwhile, Philipse Manor Hall, the inspiration for Yonkers’ first lady Mary Calvi’s “Dear George, Dear Mary” debut novel, is the setting for a “Gingerbread Spectacular,” 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.  There will be plenty of kids’ activities, including gingerbread house decorating, of course, face painting, hot chocolate, and live music. And you can draw inspiration from three gingerbread houses of Saint John’s Church, City Hall and Philipse Manor Hall, made by sponsor La Pinata Bakery. Local businesses will be submitting their own gingerbread house creations, and you can pick the winner. For more, click here.

Whew, we’re already exhausted. But never has exhaustion felt so good.
