Big happenings in New Castle

The New Castle Historical Society shares news about its upcoming antiques appraisal day and annual Castles of New Castle House Tour

Cassie Ward, the executive director of the New Castle Historical Society – headquartered at the Horace Greeley House in Chappaqua – has shared the news of two upcoming society events:

  • An Antiques Appraisal Day will be held beginning at 10 a.m. April 28 at the Greeley House. The event will feature appraisals of fine and decorative arts as well as jewelry and silver, conducted by the specialists Gina Tomasello, Sarah Ann Wilson and Lauren Bradley from the Rago Arts and Auction Center. Participants may bring up to two items. Cost is $20 for nonmembers, with proceeds to benefit the society. Reservations are accepted at 914-238-4666, with walk-ins also welcome.
  • Tickets are now available for the annual Castles of New Castle House Tour, set for May 17. Each year, several Town of New Castle homeowners open up their doors to the society and its guests in one of the organization’s main fundraisers. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
