Color us comforted

Headwaters Relief Organization, a nonprofit with 15 years experience of working with disaster relief nationally and internationally, has created a coloring book – “When We All Stayed Home” – to assist parents in helping their children stay occupied, learn and also understand what is going on around them.

As challenging as this time is for adults, it is children who are struggling to make sense of and to understand the effects of COVID-19. Headwaters Relief Organization, a nonprofit with 15 years experience of working with disaster relief nationally and internationally, has created a coloring book – “When We All Stayed Home” – to assist parents in helping their children stay occupied, learn and also understand what is going on around them.

The coloring book engages children in artwork, while also explaining COVID-19. The book also includes tips for adults on communicating with children about the coronavirus; common questions children may have; skills to teach children to protect themselves; common reactions children have to stress; ideas for adults helping to school their children at home; strategies for self-care for those providing this schooling.

Each coloring book is $5, which allows you to receive a book and Headwaters Relief Organization to provide another book to a child in need around the country. Books are available now.
