‘Dialogues’ worth having

Who says summer entertainment has to be mindless? On Saturday, July 25, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah presents “Dialogues of the Carmelites,” Francis Poulenc’s powerful opera of fear, faith, courage and redemption set against the backdrop of a Carmelite convent during the French Revolution. The production by Victoria Crutchfield features a distinguished cast led by Deborah Polaski, Hei-Kyung Hong and Jennifer Larmore. The performance is at 8 p.m. in the Venetian Theater. Tickets range from $20 to $110. Caramoor is on Girdle Ridge Road. For more, visit caramoor.org.
