Get out those calendars

Cassie Ward, executive director of the New Castle Historical Society (NCHS) in Chappaqua, has shared the organization’s spring schedule of events — and there’s plenty of note, as you can see from these highlights:

  • “An ‘Antiques Roadshow’-style Appraisal Day” will be held April 22 at the Horace Greeley House, the NCHS headquarters at 100 King St. in Chappaqua. Appraisers include Sebastian Clarke (generalist), Katherine Van Dell (jewelry), Mick Byers (fine art) and Jennifer Pitman (silver) of the Rago Arts & Auction Center in Lambertville, New Jersey, profiled in January WAG. Clarke will also offer a lecture, “Tales from the ‘Antiques Roadshow.’”
  • NCHS will again have a “Gold in Your Attic” booth at the Bedford Spring Antiques Show, set for April 29 and 30 at Bedford Historic Hall.
  • Tickets will be available beginning in April for the May 18 “Castles of New Castle” annual house tour, again set to feature distinctive homes throughout the Town of New Castle.
