Greek mythology is back

The ancient Greek gods, heroes (and antiheroes) are trending once again.

The ancient Greeks are back – if indeed they ever went away. They are, after all, a touchstone of Western civilization, albeit one that goes in and out of favor. But judging by the adult and children’s displays at Barnes & Noble’s concept store in Eastchester, the ancient Greek gods, heroes (and antiheroes) are trending once again. In particular we’d like to call your attention to graphic novels on the gods and the Trojan War as well as conversational books on the gods, heroes and Troy by British actor, comedian, writer, director and broadcaster Stephen Fry (“Jeeves and Wooster,” “Wilde”). They remind us that the Greek myths were the comic books, soap operas, reality TV and social media of their time. Better yet, they are timeless tales, because they are skilled stories about human nature.
