The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows return Tuesdays through Sundays, May 11 through 16 and May 18 through 23 with hunter and jumper competitions for avocational and professional riders of all ages. (Remember that both types of equestrian events involve obstacles with hunter competitions more concerned with form and jumper being timed events.)
Since Sunday, May 9 – Welcome Day at the North Salem site – is also Mother’s Day, we thought you’d enjoy some quotes from and photographs of mother-and-child riders. As an OSF spokeswoman observed: “Mothers and children in the horse world…need each other to be successful. It’s weekends at the shows, early morning calls on Saturdays and Sundays for years as the riders grow in their competitive groups. You will see them all over the shows, and while dads are there, too, there is something about horse, mother and child that is a joy to watch.”
To them and to you, Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at WAG.
