In a league of its own

WAG’s December issue is all about giving. And, in that spirit, the Junior League of Central Westchester has let us know that it is in need – of diapers.

These are a hygienic, even medical, necessity and if you are cash-strapped, they may seem like a luxury. The league is determined not to let that happen. Partnering with the Westchester County Executive’s office and the Westchester County Department of Social Services, the league has opened the Westchester County Diaper Bank, which provides diapers at no cost as temporary assistance to families in need through the Department of Social Services.

The big need is for diapers in size 3 and larger and pull-ups – as well as for companies to step up to the plate. Huggies has donated 90,000 diapers. And Morgan Stanley has written a check for $10,000.

As we say in the current issue, it doesn’t take much to do a lot. The need is great. So won’t you help?
