Just in time for the holidays

Remember those iconic television commercials for Castro Convertibles?

Little Bernadette Castro, daughter of company founder Bernard Castro, would sweetly demonstrate how easy it was to open the company’s couch and turn it into a bed.

Now, that little girl is the company CEO and is spearheading the introduction of the Castro Convertible Ottoman – a product seemingly made for the holiday season’s influx of houseguests.

As she says in press materials, “We are thrilled to continue the legacy my father Bernard began with Castro Convertibles. Building on the tradition he started and commitment to making life easier, our new ottomans are made for modern living and work well with small spaces such as apartments, nurseries, dorm rooms, bedrooms and living rooms.”

As described on the Castro website, the “ottoman by day, bed by night” comes in two sizes. The 33-inch wide single bed is $699, while the 39-inch wide model, an inch wider than a standard twin bed, is $799.

The ottomans are constructed with a wooden slat design ensuring comfort and a plush 5-inch thick “Castropedic” mattress. Each ottoman comes with a removable slipcover and locking castors, which are smooth and safe. All are shipped free in the continental United States.
