KNOW NOT JUST WHAT TO EAT – BUT WHEN

Most of us know what we should (and should not) eat to look and feel great, but do we know when to eat what? Timing meals is important, especially in relation to working out.  Before a workout, it is crucial to equip your body with enough fuel to make it through your session.  Carbohydrates will provide muscles with energy and protein will help deliver oxygen to working parts.  Before exercise, steer clear of fats, fiber or any food that you know will make you physically uncomfortable.  Following your workout, within 30 minutes, help muscles recover and grow by giving them protein, in any form.  And, as always, make sure to drink plenty of water!  — Sam Kopf
