You may have seen the viral story about Nicole Newland, a New York-based nurse and celebrity hairstylist who has continued to work on the frontlines at Lenox Hill Hospital throughout the pandemic within the ICU unit.
Earlier today, Newland appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to share her story. What she didn’t know was that It’s a 10 Haircare brand was going to surprise her with a $10,000 grant in honor of National Love Your Hair Day tomorrow, Oct. 10.
It’s a 10 Haircare founder and CEO Carolyn Aronson who actually presented two grants for $10,000 each to two “hair heroes” – Antonio Francisco Gonzales and Newland – to thank them for finding their way to help others through their craft.
This year marks the fourth iteration of National Love Your Hair Day, established by Aronson as a movement to encourage and reward acts of strength, bravery and selflessness within the hair community and beyond.
