We in WAG country often find ourselves in Grand Central Terminal – after all, it’s our entry point to the city when we’re traveling by rail.
Some days it’s a slog; some days it’s a delight.
The terminal’s promotional team has pointed out its May events and programs in hopes our time at the terminal will lean toward the delightful.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Mother’s Day Gift Wrap – Grand Central Terminal is offering complimentary gift-wrapping services. Shoppers who present proof of purchase from The Shops at Grand Central can get their Mother’s Day gifts wrapped in custom wrapping paper featuring the iconic Zodiac ceiling of the Main Concourse. Noon to 6 p.m. May 10 through 12.
- Greek Panorama – Vanderbilt Hall will spotlight the attractions of Greece, touching on tourism, culture and gastronomy as explored through exhibitors, live entertainment, food and more. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 12 and 13.
- Metro-North’s Getaway Day – Metro-North offers a Staycation Showcase in Vanderbilt Hall, spotlighting destinations in our own backyard. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17.
- Retail and Restaurant Openings – The list of retail events and openings includes the opening of The Campbell Bar and outdoor terrace after a restoration of the historic space; the opening of Rituals Cosmetics in the Lexington Passage; Mother’s Day gifts and promotions featured throughout the terminal; and gift guides and promotions for graduations and Memorial Day.
