More than a touch of class

The Upper Class is a Mamaroneck-based tour company for the 55 and up set that bills itself as offering not your typical casino bus trips for seniors. Indeed it has daytrips to museums, Broadway shows, Philadelphia and Providence, Rhode Island; overnighters to the Berkshires, Amish country and the Gilded Age mansions of Newport; and longer stays in Chicago, Maine, New Orleans, Nova Scotia and Quebec.

We’ll have more on the business in our June-July “Visionary Journeys” issue, out in early June, but we wanted you to know that with March, April, May and June offerings canceled, The Upper Class has launched its “Beyond the Bus” experience – virtual events for guests to enjoy, like 13 virtual train rides across the globe.

Inspired by its clients, The Upper Class has also launched a social media campaign, #SeniorStrong, and a hospital giving program. With donations to such restaurants as Family Deli & Catering in Mamaroneck and Wellington’s Grill in Harrison, The Upper Class clients aim to provide health-care workers at White Plains Hospital with weeks worth of meals.

The Upper Class is hoping to do tours for fall and holiday.
