Not for women only

Breast Cancer Alliance addresses the disease in men.

It’s generally thought of as a woman’s disease. But men can also get breast cancer, a fact that may be lost on them. Awareness is key to preventing and mitigating the disease. That’s why Greenwich-based Breast Cancer Alliance is holding a Zoom webinar on “What You Need to Know About Male Breast Cancer” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2. Steve Lo, M.D., a medical oncologist at Stamford Hospital, and Elisa R. Port, M.D., chief of breast surgery at Mount Sinai Health System, will be joined by breast cancer survivors Steve Cone, Evan Margolin and Judge Tucker Melancon at the free event. (Donations are welcome.)

Then at 6 p.m. March 31, BCA hosts a “Windows on the World Master Course With Kevin Zraly” on Zoom and in person at the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich.

Tickets for the event – which includes the wine presentation, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a live auction – start at $250. (The Zoom version, which includes the four wines and a snack to enjoy with the presentation, is $150.)

Register for both at breastcanceralliance.org/events.
