Pride in community

The LOFT LGBT Community Center in White Plains host “LOFT Pride 2017” June 3.

The LOFT LGBT Community Center, Westchester County’s first and only LGBT center, will hold its third annual Pride celebration, “LOFT Pride 2017,” on its grounds in White Plains June 3.

Music, a costume contest and pet parade will headline the festivities along with a photo booth, face painting and a bouncy castle. But there will also be a host of food trucks and vendors, including Yours Truly, who will be on hand with my new novel “The Penalty for Holding” (Less Than Three Press), about a gay, biracial quarterback’s search for identity in the NFL. It’s the latest in my series “The Games Men Play,” which includes “Water Music” (Greenleaf Book Group), about four gay athletes’ rivalries and relationships. I’ll be signing copies of both and handing out copies of WAG. I’d love to see you there.

The fun starts at noon and goes on until 5 p.m. The LOFT is at 250/252 Bryant Ave. For more, visit loftgaycenter.org and me at thegamesmenplay.com.
