Rafael Nadal serves as new Tommy Hilfiger muse/ambassador

He may be struggling on the court this year, but there’s nothing wrong with Rafael Nadal’s modeling game.

The No. 8-ranked player in the world – who is seeking to return to form at the US Open, which begins Monday – shows off another kind of form as the brand ambassador for a new line of Tommy Hilfiger underwear and clothes as well as a new fragrance, TH Bold http://usa.tommy.com/shop/en/thb2cus/Rafael-Nadal?icid=HP:08-24-2015:feature:tile-1-cta. The ad campaign – which kicked off this past Tuesday with events in Bryant Park and Macy’s Herald Square – shows a tanned, taut, glistening Rafa in nothing but the undies, and, presumably, the fragrance, also created by Hilfiger, a Greenwich resident. If the full-page color ad that appeared on the back of The New York Times’ Style section – with Rafa seen from behind, tugging down on his jeans to reveal his Tommys – is any indication, Nadal could do for Tommy Hilfiger what Nacho Figueras has done for Ralph Lauren and that is become as much muse as ambassador.

Here’s hoping.
