If you’re thinking about adding a new dish to your Thanksgiving menu this year, you might want to check out a new book, attend a special event Nov. 22 in Cold Spring – or both.
“Fruitful: Four Seasons of Fresh Fruit Recipes” (Running Press, $27.50) offers countless ideas both sweet and savory with recipes from celebrity chefs including Daniel Boulud, Jody Williams and Dan Barber. Red Jacket Orchards, a premium fruit and juice producer in Geneva, N.Y., is officially hosting the book signing for its first farm-oriented cookbook at the Cold Spring General Store, at 61 Main St.
Food writer Sarah Huck, who worked with the Red Jacket’s third-generation farmer Brian Nicholson on the effort, will be on hand from 1 to 4 p.m.
