The late Doris Duke is suddenly again in the spotlight.
The famed heiress is the subject of an exhibition in Manhattan (“Doris Duke’s Shangri La” at the Museum of Arts and Design), companion book (“Doris Duke’s Shangri La: A House in Paradise” Skira-Rizzoli) and quite a number of recent articles. (Stay tuned to WAG’s December issue for our own take on how Duke’s legacy continues to dazzle us).
Now, we’ve heard from our friends at Manitoga, the Russel Wright Design Center in Garrison about yet another Duke-themed event.
As part of its Modern Design Lecture series, “Doris Duke’s Shangri La” will be presented at 6 p.m. Nov. 14, at Knoll, 76 Ninth Ave. in Manhattan (11th Floor).
Donald Albrecht and Thomas Mellins, curators of the MAD exhibition, will speak.
Admission is $10. Reservations are required by Nov. 12.
