“Spring Blossoms,” a flower show set for April 7 and 8, will open the 2018 season at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown.
The anticipated annual event will again fill the mansion with elaborate flower arrangements, with visitors permitted to walk through the main house at their own pace (not on a guided tour).
It will all kick off with a special Preview Party April 6 hosted by the Garden Club of Irvington to benefit the restoration of the historic fountains and perennials in the Lyndhurst Rose Garden.

“The Spring Blossoms flower show was the brainchild of florists and Lyndhurst supporters Ned Kelly of Ned Kelly & Co. and Gerald Palumbo and Miko Akasaka of Seasons on the Hudson. This year’s display by a dozen area florists includes new participants Au Ciel, Diana Gould Ltd., Gracefully Done, House of Flowers and Diane James Home. This once-a-year event showcases the highest quality of floral talent available in and around Westchester County and includes lectures, workshops and presentations by local horticultural clubs.
“‘The Spring Blossoms Flower Show has quickly become a spring tradition at Lyndhurst because it recreates the opulent days of the Gilded Age, when the mansion was decorated with flowers from the estate gardens and greenhouse,’ noted Ned Kelly, owner of Ned Kelly & Co. ‘To assemble this wonderland of color and fragrance,’ Kelly continued, ‘each floral designer handcrafts a display to highlight and harmonize with the sumptuous interiors of the historic mansion.’”
