Still MAD about jewelry

Lovers of unique fine jewelry will want to check out RE:FINE Holiday 2017, a seasonal event set for The Store at MAD in Manhattan.

An annual seasonal event held at The Store at MAD in Manhattan may have a new name this year, but it is still designed to offer fine-jewelry lovers something to swoon over.

“RE:FINE Holiday 2017” marks the third edition of the event previously known as “Redefining Fine Jewelry,” held during the holiday season within the shop of the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan (a jewelry-lover’s paradise no matter the time of year).

The collection, which features work by a curated group of 32 international artists and designers, will launch with an opening cocktail party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 16.

“I am delighted to celebrate these fine jewelers and designers, whose pieces speak to our nuanced individuality rather than conform to traditional jewelry’s ideas,” says Franci Sagar, vice president of retail and brand development at MAD, in advance materials. “Drawing on the museum’s mission to champion creators across creative fields, including artists, designers and artisans, The Store at MAD is in a unique position to highlight and celebrate jewelry artists who fuse high design with excellence in craftsmanship.”

Sagar is co-curating this season’s “RE:FINE” with Beth Bernstein, whose career in the jewelry industry spans 20 years.

Many of the artists will be on hand for the opening night – and guests will enjoy 20 percent savings all evening.

The Museum of Arts and Design is at 2 Columbus Circle.
