The artistry continues

WAG profiled artist Gina Bratter back in 2015, her passion for her work making her an ideal subject for the February issue that year.

The multimedia artist – whose Dobbs Ferry home was filled with a dazzling array of her work – has reached out to let us know that she’s to be exhibiting again.

Bratter is part of the women’s group show, “We Are Rising: Women In Solidarity,” that opens Feb. 5 at The Donald Gallery @ South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry.

The exhibition, which will continue through March 19, is to feature work from female artists from the River Towns. Joining Bratter are fellow visual artists Maria Carluccio, Ellen Crane (a photographer also profiled in WAG), Anne Day, Kit Demirdelen, Ellen Hopkins Fountain, Marie McCann, Josefa Mulaire, Jen Moore Smith, Carol Sommerfield, Donna Thompson and Ivana Woodward.

The women’s work is presented as visual interpretations offered in support of 2017 V-Day and the staged reading of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues,” which will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Sanctuary on-site. The evening will serve as a benefit for Hope’s Door.

The opening reception for the gallery show will get under way at 11 a.m. Feb. 5. The church is at 343 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry.
