The GARNER (formerly GAGA) Arts Center in Rockland County brings back its regional Arts Festival this weekend for the first time since Hurricane Irene destroyed GARNER’s gallery in 2011, temporarily suspending the center’s operations.
So it’s no surprise that the center is celebrating in a big way, with a variety of exhibits, installations, demonstrations and performances that consider the textile and printing history of the National Historic Register complex GARNER calls home.
In addition to the” GARNER Textile Show,” there will be open artists’ studios, music, dance performances, children’s and adult workshops, student shows and video projections, along with food and drink vendors.
The festival is sponsored in part by the County of Rockland, Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center, Lagunitas Brewing Co., M&T Bank, Sundala, TD Bank, the Town of Haverstraw and the Village of West Haverstraw.
Admission is $7; $5 for senior citizens. Children under age 14 are admitted free.
The center is at the Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center, 55 Railroad Ave., Garnerville in West Haverstraw.
