The nature of art

It was almost funny to think that the opening reception of “Nature Inc,” a new art exhibition in West Nyack, was postponed this past weekend because of Sunday’s snowstorm.

I was all set to head over to the Rockland Center for the Arts to catch up with Tarrytown artist Catherine Latson, who was profiled in our September issue – her artwork interprets fashion through natural elements.

Latson, who works out of an enviable corner space in the YoHo Artist Studios in Yonkers, is one of the artists featured in the nature-inspired show, which continues throughout the month.

Other artists include Deborah Davidovits, Loren Eiferman, Marina Fridman, Carla Goldberg, Joan Harmon, Pat Hickman, Bill Hochhausen, Tatana Kellner, Norm Magnusson, Laura Moriarty and Jackie Schatz/John Morton.

The opening will now be from 2 to 5 p.m. March 8.

It’s also the opening for “Codes: Jen P. Harris,” which continues through April 12.

So far, no snow is predicted, so see you there.
