The Windsors in prime time

Oprah Winfrey’s 90-minute CBS interview with Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is set to air on Sunday, March 7 at 8 p.m., just hours after Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, take part in a Commonwealth Day TV special on the other side of the Pond.

While some will take little note of either, for us royal watchers, the day will be something akin to a national holiday.

The question on many Windsor watchers’ minds:  Will the Oprah interview deepen the tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals that arose when they stepped back from their now officially ended duties in January of 2020? (And we thought that would be the big news of that winter. Little did we know.)

Royal sit-downs tend not to go well as tell-alls with Diana, Princess of Wales; Prince Charles and Prince Andrew have attested. In any event, we’re eager to hear what the Sussexes have to say – and how that will be received.
