Recently, we reported on Target’s response to the challenge of retail in the Covid era. If The City Center, White Plains location is any indication, stores are cleaner and brighter. A flower stand and Starbuck’s greet visitors at the entrance. Departments that appeal to the primary shoppers, women – like beauty, fashion, home goods – are front and center.
Speaking of beauty, we were delighted to see that Ulta Beauty now has a dedicated boutique in Target’s White Plains store, as well as in more than 100 Target locations and at target.com. (The plan over the next few years is to have Ulta Beauty in 800 Target stores.)
The shop-within-a-shop features more than 50 brands, including Anastasia Beverly Hills, Ariana Grande, bareMinerals, Bumble and bumble, Clinique, Drybar, IT Cosmetics, Jack Black, Juvia’s Place, MAC Cosmetics, Madison Reed, Morphe, PATTERN, Philosophy, Smashbox, St. Tropez, Sunday Riley, Tarte, The Ordinary, Too Faced, TULA Skincare, Ulta Beauty Collection and Urban Decay.
We picked up a mini version of Benefit Cosmetics’ blush in Dandelion (baby pink), Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Wiz in dark brown and Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in intense jade, a cool black.
We look forward to returning to Ulta Beauty at Target time and again.
