WAG rests from its labors – and on its laurels – this Labor Day

Usually Making It Mondays is about a striving business or nonprofit or a business helping a nonprofit to strive in these challenging times. Not today. WAG has just taken first and second place in the New York Press Association’s nationally judged competition for Best Magazine

Usually Making It Mondays is about a striving business or nonprofit or a business helping a nonprofit to strive in these challenging times. Not today. WAG has just taken first and second place in the New York Press Association’s nationally judged competition for Best Magazine. Meanwhile, Yours Truly was honored and humbled to receive the YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester’s Visionary Achievement Award, along with a trio of proclamations and certificates of achievement from Westchester County and the New York State Senate.

So we’re resting from our labors – and on our laurels – with a hot dog, some baked beans, a root beer float and a good book. (We’re reading Eric Jay Dolin’s excellent “A Furious Sky: The Five-Hundred-Year History of America’s Hurricanes.”)

Wherever you are, whatever you do, we at WAG wish you a happy, leisurely Labor Day and a healthy, productive fall. – Georgette Gouveia
