Welcoming summer in song

The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra welcomes summer with a special “Sand and Surf” pops concert June 15.

In the spirit of our current issue – themed “Fascinating Journeys” – we highlight a pops concert that’s a short journey away.

The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra will wrap up its season with the June 15 pops concert themed “Sand and Surf.”

The show will feature hits from The Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett and Disney along with Latin favorites.

Special guests will include guitarist David Temple and soloists from the New York University steel band.

The concert – which will find NDSO performers ditching their traditional formal concert attire for sandals, Hawaiian shirts and beach apparel – will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Rhinebeck High School. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $5 for students.
